Using the Colorado backcountry discovery route i connected telluride to aspen with very minimal pavement. The beginning of the ride you could use Black bear pass out of telluride to rt 550. and in the end of the ride you could follow Richmond ridge into aspen. I just didn't have the time. Make it a two day trip and explore the off shoots.
