More than a year ago, we presented the smartphone mounts from SP Connect to you. We are enthusiastic users of these products ourselves and would like to give a summary at this point:

Thousands of kilometers, wind, and weather could not harm the Moto Mount Pro at all. The rotating mechanism still works flawlessly, and it adheres bombproof on the handlebar.

However, the smartphones for which these mounts are intended have also evolved. They have become smaller, more complex, and thus more sensitive, which is why incidents are said to have occurred where the mechanical image stabilizer was affected by the use of the mounts.

SP Connect has reacted directly to this and developed a completely new product, preventing precisely that: The Anti Vibration Module.

Test

You can easily add the Anti Vibration Module to any smartphone mount from SP Connect with the standard damping head (such as the Moto Mount Pro). It's effortless and takes less than 2 minutes.

So what can the module do?
The special elastomer inlay dampens vibrations on the smartphone by a complete 60% in all directions, minimizing vibrations (e.g., caused by the engine or uneven road surfaces) even further.

We have summarized more impressions of the new module and the vibration damping in a small video. (Unfortunately only in German, but you get a good impression anyway ;) )

Conclusion

On our test device (iPhone 11), we did not notice any damage or impairments, neither with nor without the Anti Vibration Module (over 600 km with Anti Vibration Module and about 400 km without). Nevertheless, the new module is undoubtedly advisable for those who want to play it safe. After all, the investment of €29.99 is much more affordable than a new smartphone for €800.00.
