You’re excited to plan the perfect motorcycle ride. Suddenly, you hit a blocked road. You stop, turn around, improvise. That eats up valuable riding time and can throw off your whole ride. Not anymore!
With our new feature, you can see road closures as Points of Interest (POIs) directly on the map and avoid them while planning. This not only saves frustration during your ride but also gives you more control over your route.
🔴 Blocked Roads (data from TomTom)
These roads are impassable. They are displayed on the map as blocked roads so you can easily avoid them when planning your ride.
⚠️ Roads With Restricted Access (data from OpenStreetMap)
Some roads are only closed at certain times or under specific conditions. These are marked as restricted roads so you can check whether they fit into your ride.
To make the map fit your needs, you can turn the display of blocked or restricted roads on or off in the map settings. This way, you decide whether to see this information while planning or navigating.
From now on, you can not only see closures on your map but also automatically bypass them. You have several options:
When planning a round trip, blocked roads are automatically excluded. You no longer have to worry about suddenly running into a road closure.
Whether you plan a ride yourself or follow a ready-made route, if a closed road is detected at the start, calimoto will offer you an automatic detour. You can also choose to go back to planning or start riding anyway.
Note: You can turn the "Avoid closed roads during planning" option on or off anytime in the route settings. This setting applies only to your current ride and is not saved permanently. When activated, calimoto takes current closures into account and automatically calculates a suitable alternative route.
We wish you an amazing next ride with calimoto, with smooth planning and plenty of pure riding ahead.
