Why is regular motorcycle safety training recommended?

Many of us are familiar with the following situation: You have ridden little or not at all during the winter months. This means that you're simply back at square one and you need to practice your routine. This happens to us less often in the car because we're usually on the road with it all year round and the processes become second nature.
After the winter break, it often happens that the routines that seemed to flow effortlessly last year are no longer as easy to master and need to be practiced again. For other road users, motorcyclists are not really on their radar as we are a seasonal phenomenon. That's why we recommend doing such a training in regular intervals. Whether it's a basic training at the start of the season in which braking exercises, slow driving, e.g. at walking speed (still THE ultimate skill), tight turns and maneuvering are practiced or a curve training during the season. You definitely always learn something new. Even old hands with their years of experience can refresh their memory and integrate new exercises into their tours.

Most training courses are structured in a way that allows you to incorporate the practice sessions into your everyday driving in order to prepare yourself for a wide variety of situations in road traffic and to be able to quickly react to them. It's a classic situation: you're driving along a great, winding road and suddenly there's a twist that you've misjudged, and bang – it gets dicey! Knowing and practicing how to react in such a situation saves lives.
Some training courses offered at a traffic training center are even covered by the employers' liability insurance association.

Riding a motorcycle is certainly not the least dangerous hobby you can choose, but since we all want to enjoy the rides, we should be prepared accordingly and always be mindful of other road users. Always remember: When we are in the car, everything happens so subconsciously that there are some moments when we get distracted by our thoughts and realize that the car in front of us is braking. The same situation can already cause an accident on the motorcycle…
