What a beautiful trip! Our tour of the month of September is a perfect mix between exciting twisties (with a calimeter value of 96) and relaxed cruising along the lakes in the beautiful Salzburger Land. We can't stop dreaming about it. Who doesn't want to get on their bike and ride straight away?
This picturesque tour begins in Anger near Aufham and takes you via Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden passing Obersalzberg to finally reach Austria. Just a few kilometers and then: "Off to the Postalm!"
Already after the first twisties into the ascent, with a view on the fascinating landscape and breathtaking rock formations, you notice that the consistently excellent road surface is interrupted here and there by metal grids. Anyone who has never been in this region will quickly find out that these keep cows from leaving their territory.
If you haven't come across any herd of cattle by the alpine pasture you will certainly meet them there. Arriving at waypoint 5 of the route, the inn located directly above the spacious park area is ideal for a first break. Back on the motorcycle seat, we descend to Strobl, where the lake Wolfgangsee and, later on, the Attersee and Mondsee await us.
If you are looking for culinary delights, you can encounter a beer garden at via-point 15 near the Fuschelsee, where you can enjoy typical dishes or simply a cool drink.
Riding back to Germany, the itinerary passes over the bridge in Oberndorf near Salzburg continuing to Laufen (Salzach). If you are looking for advice for a wonderful hotel with great cuisine and a fantastic wellness center to stay overnight during your trip, the Landhotel Prinz, located at the starting and finishing point of the tour, is the place to be!
TIP: If you activate the POI list "Biker hotel" in the calimoto app or on the web trip planner, you can also integrate the Landhotel Prinz directly into your tour. 😉
Are you eager to discover the Salzburgerland by motorbike? Special thanks go to Björn from Worldofbikers.de for this recommendation.
